The U.S. Department of Justice announced the seizure of two deepfake websites, CFAKE.com and SOCFAKE.com, which allegedly hosted nonconsensual AI-generated nude images and videos of women. This move marks the first publicly announced domain seizure under the TAKE IT DOWN Act.

In another incident, a vulnerability in the SimpleHelp remote management software was discovered, allowing unauthenticated attackers to create privileged technician accounts on servers using the OpenID Connect (OIDC) authentication protocol. The flaw, tracked as CVE-2026-48558, affects SimpleHelp versions 5.5.15 and older, as well as 6.0 pre-release versions.

Meanwhile, a critical three-stage attack was discovered in the Copilot 'SearchLeak' Attack, which allows for 1-click data theft. Although the vulnerability has been patched, it highlights the growing concern over AI prompt-injection issues.

Additionally, the OptinMonster WordPress plugin was hacked in a supply-chain attack impacting Awesome Motive's content distribution network (CDN). The attack compromised at least 1.2 million websites, triggering malicious scripts that collected authentication tokens and nonces to create rogue administrator accounts.

Lastly, Cisco released security updates to address a vulnerability in the Catalyst SD-WAN Manager, tracked as CVE-2026-20262, which was exploited in attacks to escalate to root privileges.

Coverage Gaps to Watch

  • Single-outlet dependency

Coverage currently traces back to one domain. Add independent outlets before drawing firm conclusions.

  • Thin mapped perspectives

Most sources do not have mapped perspective data yet, so viewpoint spread is still uncertain.

  • No high-credibility anchors

No source in this set reaches the high-credibility threshold. Cross-check with stronger primary reporting.
